Thunder Power Smart Guide series ESCs are perfect for use in a wide variety of applications, from park flyer and mid-size airplanes to micro and mini helicopters, and feature multiple programmable settings that allow you to optimize performance in each application, for any motor or battery type. These settings can be programmed using your transmitter, or the unique, easy and quick to use eZ programmer (THPEZP): · Battery type; Ni-Cd/Ni-MH or Li-Po · Cutoff type; Soft or Hard · Cutoff voltage; Low (2.75V), Medium (3.0V) or High (3.25V) · Governor mode for helis; On or Off · Start up mode; Normal, Soft or Very Soft · Timing mode; Low (0 degree), Middle (15 degree) or High (25 degree) · Brake; Off, Soft or Hard Most models feature dual BEC regulators for consistent and reliable receiver/servo power when using up to 3S 11.1V Li-Po batteries and 4 sub-micro servos, and the 40-amp model features a switch-mode BEC that can power 5 sub-micro servos (or 4 micro servos) when using up to 4S 14.8V Li-Po batteries. However, the most unique feature of Smart Guide ESCs is that they’re equipped with an industry-first balance connector lead that allows you to plug any Thunder Power (or similar compatible) balance connector into the lead for individual cell voltage monitoring during use. “Balance Discharge Monitoring and Protection” helps to prevent overdischarge of a single cell within the battery that can occur when only monitoring the voltage of the entire battery pack with other ESCs. This not only improves battery cycle life, but also prevents a potentially damaging and dangerous cell failure or imbalance. The motor leads of each ESC are equipped with factory-installed 3.5mm gold bullet connectors, and the throttle channel lead features a universal connector compatible with most major brand receivers. Just add your favorite battery lead connector, connect and fly!
